When I was diagnosed with Endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) I had difficulty finding information on this type of cancer because this type has not been around for very long and it is rare. I will be sharing my cancer journey in hopes of being informative and supportive of others on this same or similar journey. My oncologist prescribed letrozole explaining that this medication is an inhibitor and will prevent the cancer from coming back so far it is working HOWEVER the side effects are no joke!!!!! I have been taking this for a little over 2yrs. The first year was the hardest I had severe joint pain almost all the time but in different areas on different days and I was nauseous a lot!!!! Now there are days that I have severe joint pain but not as often. Sometimes I feel wiped out as if I haven’t slept in days so I just take a day and do absolutely nothing but rest!!!! My oncologist says these things are normal. I am grateful that I only have this to contend with for I know it could be worse and by the Grace of God it is is not!!!!!
I’m so proud of you and all the joy you’ve brought to our lives!! I love that you are sharing what you’ve learned and turning a darkness into light. Pray for my friend Laura, who started chemo this week. TFS your story.
Love you LOTS,
MOM
